It is hard to bet against a team like Portugal since they have a talented cast. Cristiano Ronaldo is the obvious choice as the headliner but you also have to remember that Bruno Fernandes and Rui Patricio are on this team as well. They will be one of the favourites for sure as they have a solid squad and the experience to boot.

They won the 2014 edition of the World Cup and it looked like they were set to become the best team in the world for a long time. However, that was not the case as they turned into a shell of their former selves and became a weaker squad.
Joachim Löw is in charge of his final event for the country but it will be amazing to see them pull off one last event win before their legendary coach leaves. Hansi Flick is rumoured to take over which is awesome considering the success that he had with Bayern Munich in the past two years and he was also a big part of the coaching staff back in 2014.
With Manuel Neuer and Toni Kroos serving as the veterans, you should expect that this team will keep playing at a high level and possibly win events. It’s tough to predict Germany's games as they can win any match but they can also lose any match. It will be hard to stop this team when they’re fully locked in which will be a fun watch.
Spain
Of course, Spain is one of the most consistent teams in the European Championships. Spain has a solid lineup that is still built on a good foundation set by the likes of Andres Iniesta and Xavi in the 2000s. This team has a solid offence and there are so many possibilities with this team as they have a good mix of young talent and veterans.
They should be known as a strong team in this event but you have to be aware that they are a dark horse as their lineup has some holes especially on the defensive end. However, you should expect that this team will compete in every game.
