Entering the pro poker scene

Poker is one of the biggest casino games out there, and it is known not only for its heavy presence in many casinos but also for its pro scene as well. This is why many punters are eager to find their way into the pro scene where they hope to rise as poker stars and global icons.

All pro poker players start their path with the usual casino poker. As time goes by, their knowledge in the game grows at the same time and they learn more than the common player does as well. Then they would later wind up battling for titles and cash prizes in the pro poker scene.

Of course, the poker we know today can be played online, which is enough reason for many to come and try the pro scene. While others enjoy betting and earning a chance to win handsome prizes such as free CSGO skins, there are some who have carved their path into the bigger stage of poker.

A lot of people in the poker world have moved on from the ‘just play’ phase and have grown better over the years. They are often seen as old players in the game, and so they have enough reason to try and set foot for greener pastures.

A pro is one who uses the sport as a source of income or career. Others may think they are pros, but taking on the big players out there is a different challenge. Pros have a much better skill compared to the ones who play in casinos and more.

There are two kinds of pros. The first one is those who left their careers in pursuit of poker. This group can keep the same or better life they did before being a pro. The next one would be the first-choice poker pros. These ones are those who are able to earn a living with the game despite having no source of income prior to their move to poker.

What do you need to consider before going pro?

Most pro players have a lot to look at before they are sure of their call to go pro and leave their prior career. This is why checking some key factors prove to be crucial as it will decide a big part of their lives.

Going pro is no joke, and once players move on, it will be hard for them to go back. Some take years to get their careers going, and other lucky players enjoy quick success in the game as well.

Pros don’t get that much respect for what they do from the public. Most of them are shocked and are mad at the people who quit their job and go pro. While it is a question to take money from weaker players, it is a huge part of the game when it comes to being an elite poker star.

Back then, it took little effort to enter the pro scene and become the best out there. In the modern world, pros need a proper work ethic and must make it their living. For those who give a lot of time and effort, the rewards are very pleasing.

Pros have to put all of their heart, mind and soul into the game for a long period of time. Most players try not to get too smooth with their success at the tables since there is always going to be a bad run in the game no matter what.

The income ceiling for pro poker

Another factor to look at before going pro is the income ceiling. Every player has a high level of stake that they are able to beat. Most pros depend on fish and good games while beating their opponents.

When they come into a stake level they cannot beat, they are stuck on that end and there is no more room for growth. That is a hurtful finish for every player who wants to do more.

There is also a big shift in the regulars playing at a set level of stakes. Most of them in the 5/10 games from two years ago are now either playing 2/4 or lower, and some have even left the game for good.

Some pros have what it takes to move up and beat the tougher games. However, most players reach their ceiling and then decline as the games become harder to beat over time.

Of course, one can study and get better the same way they do when it comes to getting free CSGO skins in certain casino games. The only downside is that every player does the same and wants to improve as well. Everyone is hungry to win and it is a survival of the fittest.

Cheating is also an issue that has been seen many times both online and live. The most common thing about this is that it is hard to detect. The key is to be aware of the many ways that you can be cheated and have a full vision of what is happening at the table.

A good way to know if you are ready to be a pro is to look at the results of your games in a period of time. Using apps to track at least 200,000 hands is enough to see if you can go up with the big boys of poker. Live players check their results for a year and weigh their options as well.

Based on this piece of information, players can decide whether they want to go and play more in the casinos and online sites or go for the next level and take their chances to win big. This is a big decision they must make if they want to know if they are right for the pros.

Mastering the game of poker

A pro gives his all when it comes to playing poker. They do all they can to master it at the very least. The basic rules are not that hard to take note of, but this will surely help you win a lot in the long run even if you are in the pro scene or not.

No matter what you play, always take note that poker is a game that has math. Knowing your numbers will give you an easy way into success, maybe even the toughest games and players to beat.

Keeping track of the odds of a hit hand when you are behind is a key to winning games. It means you have to make sure you can get the most of your chances with the best hand there is. You also have to figure out in comparing it with pot odds to make a big call if you want to continue with your holdings as well.

There is also the fact that you need to know how implied odds work and the extra value they come with should you ever add them to your hand in the middle of the game. This means you need to count combos well so you can keep an edge over other players.

It is also vital to take note that it is always about ranges and not the set of hands. When you get to know the ranges and how the other players are holding up against one another, you can assign a good range of cards and avoid some easy mistakes.

This can be done if players are keen to watch all the action.

How to win big as a pro

Start by looking at the cards you have and the cards left on the deck for each player. This should give you an edge in making a guess of the value of their cards. If you struggle to begin, the more you play and get to figure out the holdings will matter a lot in the long run as long as you read them better.

Players then should narrow that range based on every action they take on the next turns. At the end of the hand, you will get to know where you stand if you pull it off well. All you have to do is to either call or raise their bet if you are ahead or fold if you are behind. It is just as simple as that.

That is the most crucial part of the game as most players tend to waste a lot of time and money. They took a lot of time to figure out a crucial part of the holdings which clearly is the biggest factor in winning games.

Pros are far away from the ‘play’ mode. They are here to win, so the mindset should change for every player in the game as they aim to get the most of their chances at the big prizes that most contests offer.

Never let go of the basic rules, because it will be the one to save you and act as the bread and butter to wrap up your calls in the game. It is still the best source you can rely on to win poker games.

Being a pro comes up with a lot of tasks and greater battles to win. This is why players should always think twice before going to this stage and leaving their old careers for this one. It may be a big call for many, but it is still a huge chance to pass up.
