What is King of Glory game

The King of Glory game is known under many names. The most direct translation for its local title is ‘King Glory’ but it is published as ‘Honor of Kings’ for the rest of the world. Tencent also released a different version of it titled ‘Arena of Valor’. This international version of King of Glory is now one of the biggest MOBAs in Southeast Asia with major events like a medal game at the SEA Games.

How to play King of Glory

There are several game modes but the main one used in esports and ranked gaming is the 5v5 map. Just like other games of the same genre, the King of Glory MOBA features a square map divided into two sides. Armies spawn to march towards the enemy territory using three routes and heroes (the players) must guide their forces. Your goal is to destroy the enemy’s nexus base using all means available to you.

Its competitive nature inspired many creative ways to complete that task, eventually giving rise to the ‘meta’, a community-observed trend in the game. Every player is given a role to fulfil and heroes are assigned by what their unique abilities can do for the team. It is the foundation that eventually helped build the King of Glory esports.

The rules of King of Glory tournaments are similar to other MOBA esports. Every match focuses on the official 5v5 game mode where two teams compete in a best of three (Bo3). One full game counts as one map and whichever side wins twice first wins the match day.

Bookmakers for Honor of King esports will open bets for a third map but these won’t resolve if one side wins 2-0. Final matches of a tournament typically feature a best of five (Bo5) set up where the first to score three maps win the match, giving you more outcomes to place bets on.

Markets available for King of Glory betting

All of the markets available in any MOBA game are present in King of Glory. Match bet is about predicting who the winner of the match will be. Match handicap, on the other hand, gives one side 1 score lead in a Bo3 match or 2 in a Bo5, changing the King of Glory odds.

One of the most fun bets you can make is predicting the correct score at the end of the match. Your options will be 2-0, 2-1, 1-2, and 0-2 in a Bo3 game. Having four options instead of two like in match betting ensures that you always have high potential payouts. Bo5 matches will have more combinations and higher potential payouts.

Some bets are about possible outcomes per map like who would win the round, who would get first blood, or who will take down the enemy turret first. These follow the same rules as match betting but you just have to guess which team will fulfil the conditions first.

Although they each only have two possible outcomes (either of the two teams), they have a relatively low Honor of Kings betting odds. All three bets can be resolved within the first 5 to 10 minutes of every map, making them popular bets among live spectators.
